FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I know if my preferred territory is available?

Simply fill out the territory availability form and our team will confirm whether your preferred location is open.

What happens if the territory I want is already taken?

We’ll work with you to identify nearby areas with strong market potential. Remember, territories are exclusive — once they’re claimed, they’re no longer available.

How large is a typical territory?

A typical territory is a 40 mile radius from your home office. Each licensee is granted a defined geographic area that offers enough households and real estate activity to support business growth. Exact boundaries are confirmed during the approval process.

Why are territories exclusive?

Exclusivity protects your investment. You won’t compete with other Joe the Home Pro licensees in your area, ensuring your marketing and efforts benefit your business alone.

Can territories overlap?

Yes — territories can overlap in certain situations. While each licensee is typically assigned a 40-mile radius as their primary territory, there is flexibility for those who wish to travel farther or accommodate special circumstances. We don’t strictly regulate these boundaries, but we aim to keep territories clearly defined to support local success. If a larger radius — such as 60 miles — is needed, we can adjust as appropriate.

Can I request more than one territory?

Yes, multiple territories may be available depending on your goals and capacity to manage them. Larger expansions can be discussed during your discovery call.

Are territories assigned or chosen?

You’ll have the opportunity to select your preferred area. If it’s open, we’ll assign it to you; if not, we’ll present the best alternatives.

How quickly do territories get reserved?

Territories are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Once a licensee signs their agreement and pays their licensing fee, that area becomes officially locked in and unavailable to others. This ensures fairness in the process and allows each licensee to secure their preferred market with confidence.

Do rural areas qualify for exclusive territories?

Yes, rural areas may qualify if they have sufficient population and real estate activity to support the business. We’ll review each case individually.

Can I expand into new areas later?

Yes. As your business grows, you’ll have the opportunity to request additional territories when they become available.
